PIGS AT THE ALTER ...COMMERCIAL PREACHERS

PIGS AT THE ALTER…..COMMERCIAL PREACHERS

Luke 3:9 “And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

Revelations 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Jeremiah 28:15 “Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie.”

Ezekiel 13:22 “Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:”

Jeremiah 28:15 “Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD.”

Deuteronomy 13:5 “And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.”

Jeremiah 28:17 “So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month.”

Jeremiah 29:31-32 “Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie: Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, saith the LORD; because he hath taught rebellion against the LORD.”

One day the preacher asked the congregation to rise to their feet, with their car keys. He then started to recount how a man gave his car to his pastor and he got 10 others within one week.

Many of the people standing got carried away and stepped forward to donate their cars, by dropping the keys. One of them has a sensible wife, who drew his attention to the fact that he was acting under duress, and not from the heart.

She reminded him of the fact that they had only one car so he should go back and collect the key. The man went back to the pastor who made fun of him and asked if it was his wife that was controlling him, or the other way round. That was a commercial preacher.

O Lord, let me not be attracted to greed that would surpass my need in Jesus name.
